What you just described is religious extremism. Belief in Jesus hardly equates to being Republican. I guess it’s a twisted way of using religion to push agenda.

Jesus was a revolutionary during his time. And liberation theology has focused on people, not power-peddling and fear-mongering.

I’m Catholic by the way. Even though there are fundamentals and dogmas in Roman Catholicism, there is a wide spectrum of beliefs ranging from ultra conservative groups to very progressive ones.
